Rubber Cell
Collaboration with Ferdinand Peuker, 2026

The series explores the transformation of a familiar person into an unfamiliar body. At its core is a temporary dissociation of body and identity. The face—normally the strongest marker of recognition—disappears. The familiar person becomes unreadable and can therefore be perceived anew. Because the protagonists know who is behind each mask, a tension emerges that would not arise with an anonymous body. In the serial arrangement of the tableau, the individual bodies form a structure of gestures, postures, bodily signs and fragments. Repetition and variation place them within a typological order and shift the focus from the individual portrait to the relationships between the bodies.
